Who we are:

Aspen Grove Veterinary Care is seeking a compassionate, motivated Associate Veterinarian to join our long-established small animal and boarding hospital in midtown Fort Collins. This opportunity arises as we prepare for the departure of Dr. Ash Wells in January 2025, and we are excited to welcome a veterinarian who values excellent medicine, teamwork, and a supportive culture.

About Our Practice

Aspen Grove is a well-established, progressive, 100% small-animal practice with separate dog and cat entrances, six exam rooms, a large open treatment area, and a fully equipped surgical suite. We are a primary care hospital that also accepts same-day and urgent care appointments, with multiple mobile specialists providing advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, cardiology, oncology, scoping, and specialty imaging.

We are paper-lite, well-equipped, and focused on providing high-quality, efficient care with enough time to practice medicine the right way.

Equipment includes:

  • Full in-house laboratory

  • Digital radiography & digital dental radiography

  • Ultrasound

  • 40W CO₂ surgical laser

  • 15W therapy laser

  • CryoPen

  • Tono-Pen

  • Electroacupuncture

  • Dental bonded sealant

Doctors typically see ~16 patients per day, with 30-minute sick appointments and 20-minute wellness visits.

  • Doctor-to-support staff ratio: 1:2.5

  • 1 RVT currently on staff, with three assistants enrolled in an RVT program

  • Support staff interests and certifications include acupuncture, advanced dentistry/oral surgery, CAETA Peaceful End-of-Life Practice, and more

  • Our Chief of Staff is a Certified Veterinary Mentor

We partner closely with local organizations including NOCO Humane Society, Larimer County Sheriff’s Canine Unit, and several regional rescues.

Mentorship & Growth

We welcome new graduates and are proud to offer a structured, individualized mentorship program. Mentorship includes:

  • A tailored mentorship agreement

  • Weekly check-in meetings

  • Surgical mentorship and collaborative case support

  • A culture of open communication and shared learning across the entire medical team

Experienced veterinarians will find opportunities to grow, mentor, and further develop clinical interests.

Schedule & On-Call

  • 10-hour shifts with a 1-hour lunch and three 20-minute catch-up blocks

  • Typical hours: 8:00–6:00 or 9:30–7:30 (varies by day)

  • Dedicated surgery time every scheduled day

  • Rotating Saturday schedule: every 3rd Saturday, 9:00–3:00

  • Rotating on-call every 3 weeks (Sunday phone availability for boarded patient triage only)

We are open to full-time or part-time candidates. 

 

Salary range for full-time: $130k - $150k - dpeending on experience and schedule
